Reflector

A reflector, also known as a reflector, is a road traffic safety device that can provide a vision of the blind spot area for passers-by, and is generally set at intersections or bends with poor visibility. Protect your life and property by effectively avoiding unnecessary collisions between people and vehicles. With such a variety of mirrors, how do you find the style that best suits you? How to choose a mirror

Select the material of the reflector according to the environment: stainless steel is suitable for outdoor use

First of all, please choose your reflector material according to the use environment. The reflector is usually installed outdoors. Please use the stainless steel mirror with the best weather resistance. It is the most suitable reflector for outdoor spaces and can provide more than 10 years of service life. . Generally, the roads are mainly equipped with stainless steel reflectors. If you use it in indoor spaces such as underground parking lots or driveways, you can consider choosing PC reflectors, which can provide at least 5 to 7 years of use. PC mirrors are not recommended for outdoor use, because the mirror surface will slowly deteriorate and lose its warning function after a long time of sun exposure.

Select the size of the reflector according to the distance: road reflectors are generally larger than 80 cm

The size of the mirror can be selected according to the size of the corner and the speed of the vehicle. Larger mirrors can provide farther images, while smaller mirrors can provide wide-angle images at close range. If you drive from a slow place to a road with a normal speed, you will need to look at a long distance to determine the oncoming car, and a reflector with a size of 80cm or more is recommended. If the vehicle speed is slow or there are narrow turns where pedestrians pass by, it can be applied to products below 60cm.

Choose the most versatile mirror: choose the SG-80 mirror

If you are still not sure how to choose, you can directly choose SG-80. The diameter of 80cm is the most common road reflector size, which is suitable for various situations. The circular mirror enables the driver to see oncoming vehicles from all angles. Stainless steel plus galvanized steel makes it extremely weather resistant both indoors and outdoors. The brim is designed to prevent direct sunlight from the driver’s eyes, and the SG-80 is also one of the most common reflectors.

where to set up the mirror

If you want to install mirrors on public land or beside public roads, you can ask your local government first . Some can be set by themselves. For some, you need to apply to the district office. After evaluation, the county government transportation bureau will apply for the “Apply for Traffic Safety Facilities” operation process, and the government will set it up after applying for the budget.

If you set up reflectors on private land and driveways, you can purchase the installation yourself . It is recommended to set the reflectors to see the position of vehicles coming from a distance before entering the public road.

How to Set Up and Install the Mirror

Pole is generally the most common way to set up the mirror

  • Dig a 40*40cm hole in the ground with a depth of about 50cm
  • After the pole is inserted, half fill with concrete and stones and vent
  • Add the other half of the concrete and level it
  • After the condensation, check whether it is vertical and stable, and then start to install the mirror
  • If your reflector is replaced with a new one, just check its diameter and install it after confirming that it is correct.

If you set the reflector on the wall , you can use drilling equipment to fix the additional wall hanging on the wall, and then install it with the reflector.

The mirror surface and back plate will be assembled first when the mirror leaves the factory. You only need to install the attached tube bundle, iron parts and mirror on the pole, which can be completed within ten minutes. When installing the reflector, do not directly screw it. After being temporarily fixed, return to the simulated driving position, confirm that the mirror is installed in a position where the driver can see the blind spot, and then tighten the screws to fix the height and angle. When outdoors, the mirror is often installed at a height of two to three meters, so that the driver can easily see it and avoid causing people and vehicles to come into contact with the mirror. After confirming the completion, tear off the film covering the mirror surface.

Follow-up cleaning and maintenance of mirrors

Mirrors require essentially no maintenance. Just when the dust adheres to the surface for a long time and the image is unclear, rinse the sand and dust adhering to the mirror surface with clean water first, then use neutral soapy water and a sponge to clean the mirror surface, and then rinse with clean water. The PC mirror can also be directly rinsed with clean water. If it is installed in a place that is not suitable for washing with water, you can use a tissue or a soft brush to gently brush off the dust, because both materials are easy to scratch, do not use a hard brush or wipe vigorously.

Remarks: Please be sure to wash the dust as much as possible. If there is too much dust left, use a sponge to clean and wipe it, which will easily scratch the mirror surface.
